As we close out 2024, we’re reflecting on a transformative year of growth, challenges, and achievements across all aspects of Anthora Collection, Nice Tones Ltd., and Skyrex International Ltd.
Anthora Collection
This year, we made significant strides in advancing our vision of sustainable, timeless fashion:
- Sustainable Practices: I personally wrote 16 entries for our sustainability journal, documenting our thoughts, journey and progress.
- Expanding Offerings: Released 26 ready-to-wear styles and introduced 3 exclusive preorder designs, bringing our total collection to life with diverse options.
- Showroom Presentation: Exhibited our annual collection at SS25 Paris Fashion Week, marking an important step in sharing Anthora’s vision with an international audience.
- New Ventures: Recorded our first-ever podcast, set to launch in early 2025, to amplify the conversation around sustainability in fashion.
Nice Tones Ltd. & Skyrex International Ltd.
We embraced operational shifts and sustainability measures to better align with our values:
- Office Optimization: Relocated and downsized both our Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices for greater efficiency.
- Factory Revamp: Transitioned our Shenzhen factory’s production line structure from 38 workers per line to a flexible system accommodating 8–20 workers, enabling responsiveness to smaller orders.
- Resource Conservation: Reduced paper usage in the Hong Kong office by 45%.
- Water System Upgrade: Replaced distil bottle water dispenser system with inbuilt water filtration system, ensuring a more sustainable and efficient solution.
Personal Highlights as Hoiki Liu
On behalf of all my ventures, I was privileged to contribute to discussions and education in the sustainability space:
- Global Collaboration: Attended the Milan roundtable discussion and study tour as a delegate for Fashion Summit Hong Kong.
- Education Initiatives: Delivered a 2-hour lesson on “Sustainability in the Fashion Industry” for Saint Too Bloom Secondary students.
- Public Speaking: Served as a panel speaker at the Hong Kong Palace Museum during Fashion Summit Hong Kong.
- Community Support: Donated 6 mannequins and various fabrics to Shau Kei Wan East Government Secondary School, fostering creativity in young designers.
Looking Ahead to 2025
The upcoming year is brimming with opportunity as we continue building on our foundation:
- Adopt 3D software Z-emotion for creating initial design looks to minimize waste associated with overproducing prototype samples.
- Launching “The Conscious Cut” podcast in February, focusing on sustainability in fashion.
- Transitioning Anthora Collection towards a preorder business model, aligning production with demand to further reduce waste.
- Advocating for clients of Nice Tones Ltd. and Skyrex International Ltd. to adopt more sustainable practices, besides offering more sustainable options on fabrics & trims, to eliminating spare buttons with our added security of heat-sealed buttons and transitioning to 100% biodegradable packaging.
- Conducting lessons on “Sustainable Design” for students at Shau Kei Wan East Government Secondary School.
- Beginning the journey of certifying our emissions and carbon data for 2026, furthering transparency and accountability.
2024 has been a testament to the power of intentional growth and sustainable practices. As we step into 2025, we look forward to experiencing and learning much more as we continue to grow collectively—not just as a women’s wear label but as a brand rooted in sustainability and sustainable growth in all aspects of life.
